History of the School
Edited by: Fritzie C. Soronio
CONSOLACION NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL ( formerly, Consolacion Municipal High School) was constructed in 1974 at Poblacion, Consolacion, Cebu. The school was a plaza until it was founded in 1974.
The site where this school was built was once a Municipal Park. The Mayor at that time was Mayor Hilarion Pepito. Together with the Local Government Unit (LGU), he initiated to build a secondary school. He is known as the founder of the school. There were only four teachers in its initial stage: Mrs. Adelina P. Semblante (currently the Principal of this school), Mrs. Violeta Dabalos and Mrs. Leah Manatad. In 1974, the school initially offered the First Year Level and Second Year Level with two sections each respectively. Supervising the school was its principal, Mr. Pedro Ferrarin. It was then named Consolacion Municipal High School or (CMHS).
In 1975, the school had offered a complete high school with its Third Year and Fourth Year classes. It became independent from the elementary school in 1976 and was governed as a secondary school under Naga National High School. It was only in 1989 where it was recognized as Consolacion National High School.
The school is located in the town proper, along the National Highway and fronting the Municipal building. It is just beside the San Narciso Parish Church and is currently the center of the many activities of the municipality.
